The Debate Over American Airspace

Last December, SF discussed the introduction of unmanned drones over American airspace.

Now, John Whitehead, the leader of the Rutherford Institute—one of this nation’s prominent watchdog organizations for religious rights and civil liberties—details the intrusive nature of drones in his commentary, The Empire Strikes Back: the Attack of the Drones.

SF encourages its readers to write their congressional representatives and request that federal lawmakers pass strict regulations concerning the use of drones over American airspace.

Drones make use of infrared technology—intrusive heat sensors than can monitor the movements of Americans inside of their homes.  Drones can also hit on Wi-Fi connections and intercept Internet data.

Americans who appreicate the small tad of privacy we have left need to get involved and try to put this genie back in the bottle before it is too late.

UPDATE:  On May 7, the Rutherford Institute released this video regarding the use of drones in the United States.

Hello Steve. Good info again. I’m very concerned about how this may tie into what is going on in Chicago right now. You may have heard or read that in preparation for the NATO summit May 20-21, they are preparing for mass evacuations, citizen detetion camps in the old Joliet prison, informing the public that on/off ramps of the freeways will be closed down…basically closing the whole city down. It looks as if they are conditioning everyone for martial law! There’s talk of preparing for mass rioting, terrorists attacks, and also talks of conveying mass corpeses to a location set up some time ago in Indiana. This doesn’t sound like something to do just to prepare for a bunch of liberal college kids protesting.

I fear that there’s a very good chance they (global elite) are preparing some sort of bio attack or God forbid blow the whole damn city up for all we know. This will be their perfect excuse to implement these drones and for Obama to implement the NDAA and start confiscating property, start the gun confiscations, and throw American citizens in camps. It could be on! However, it could also just be a test to see how the people respond. At the very least they will certainly be getting people used to seeing federal and foreign troops on the street like in Pittsburgh back at the 2009 G-20 summit.

Don’t over think the Chicago authority’s prep for the NATO summit. Chicago has a new mayor (Rahm Emanuel) and relatively new police chief (Gary McCarthy from Newark via the NYPD command staff).

Emanuel earned the nicknamed the “godfather” after ramming a knife into a table during an early Clinton administration meeting shouting, “Dead, dead, dead,” when labeling certain named persons political traitors. In my opinion, he symbolizes what is wrong with machine-born-and-made politicians–autocratic, foul-mouthed, and underhanded. Emanuel is actually blaming former Mayor Richie Daley for the Windy City’s out-of-control gang problem. You can bet that he doesn’t want a group of protesters giving Chicago a black eye. In that regard, one has to hope that the 21st century Chicago authorities will behave better than their former colleagues did during the 1968 Democrat Party convention.

Then there is McCarthy, who arrived from out east. He is still in the process of learning the city and his command staff (i.e. which commanders are actually qualified, which ones are simply patronage appointments, and what others formers simply police super Jody Weis holdovers).

Reading between the lines, it appears that McCarthy’s command staff was not adequately prepared for the summit, which is why the G-8 was moved to Camp David–a secure military facility.

I am sure the Chicago fusion center is working overtime identifying all those present by using facial recognition, drone surveillance, cellular telephone monitoring, and then developing a dossier on all those present (which, thanks to their private sector partners, fusion centers can assemble such data on 98 percent of adult Americans).

If you’re heading down there, make sure you read Miles Kinard’s magazine expose on fusion centers.

Tom Barrett brought Chicago’s autocratic mayor to the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee to raise cash. Then Barrett, the mayor of “Detroit West,” called out Walker for bringing in a former federal prosecutor (Chris Christie) while Barrett had the ‘Godfather’ visit.

Who is Barrett going to bring in next? Mussolini?

Jim, if you are in Chicago get out before El Duce Rahm can put you on a train to Camp Joilet.

Well, I do agree that we must contact our congress and insist on strict limitations on this. Perhaps we should be using this technology to watch our government instead of our government watching us! After all, they are the real criminals!

No, I won’t be going to Chicago. And no Larry, I won’t be going to any FEMA camp either. I’ll go down fighting! No new world order for me!
